Smotri - Live Russian Broadcasts

It's been quite some time since my last post, sorry about that, I've been thinking about what I should do with Sites Like Chatroulette, seeing that the blog was specifically about random chat sites and seeing that that pools dried up I thought I'd open up the blog to a broader range of video chat sites, namely anything that's half decent.

For my return to hopefully regular posting I thought I'd start with a Russian site called Smotri, it's mainly a video hosting site, much like Youtube, but what we're interested in most over here is that it offers live user broadcasts, there are loads of interesting cams to watch, far more than most random chat sites have to offer these days, had some epic times on Smotri. The only real problem with Smotri is that if you can't understand Russian, chat won't be much use to you, occasionally you will encounter English speakers, but if you're a lil bit of a voyeur like I am then that shouldn't matter to much.

Navigating Smotri can be a little difficult due to the language barrier and you'll need to register to get to the erotic broadcasts but I'll guide you through the process.

If you're not interested in the erotic cams then just click on Трансляции near the top of the page, that will get you to the live cams. If you're interested in the naughty ones then you'll have to register. In the top right corner of the page click Войти, you will get a sign-in pop-up, click on регистрация, enter your email and click the button, on the next page enter a username, password and login name, enter captcha, tick agree and hit the button. You should get an email with your login details.

Begin registration.

Click the word in red circle.

Enter Email, click button.

Enter a username, password, login name, captcha, tick box, click button.

To get to the sexy cams, once logged in click Трансляции then click Эротика the last option on the menu above the cam previews, pick a cam and then click the blue button on what I'm assuming is the "are you 18" check, you'll get cam previews for the erotic broadcasts now.

Stickam Shuts Down, Didn't See That Coming

I can't believe it, it looks like Stickam has shut down. I've always thought Stickam would be around as long as the likes of Youtube, it just seemed so solid in its service, I wonder what went wrong?

I remember spending countless hours on there, shooting the shit and what not, kind of a sad day, granted I hadn't been on there in years, so I'm not too sad.

Airtime Video Chat Review

I guess it's about time I shared my thoughts on Airtime, the launch was awhile back and I thought I'd have a review up sooner, but I just couldn't get into it, though after overcoming a few concerns I'm quite into Airtime now.

First off I really hate sites that require you to log-in with Facebook, I mean I'm not lazy, I don't mind creating a new account and I don't want your dirty site knowing my details. Not the case with Airtime, I love the fact that all my friends and family are listed, waiting and ready to video chat, logging in with Facebook on Airtime is actually useful!

However my major concern was with privacy, you see in order for Airtime to combat the dong, they take recordings of users to determine whether they're up to no good. Though I quickly overcame this concern as I'm not up to no good, therefore I have nothing to worry about.

I don't really use Airtime to chat with strangers like I would with sites like Omegle or Chatroulette, instead I use it mostly to watch Youtube videos with friends and family.

Airtime is a million dollar website, so I won't comment on the design, functionality or reliability, but I will leave you with this, it is a vastly different beast than most of the other sites listed on this blog.

Best Cam Site Ever

My Free Cams is the best cam site ever, I thought I'd break away from the roulette sites for a moment and share it. I found it pretty amazing how many cams there are to view and all free to boot. I've had some pretty fun chat sessions on it and I've even got to know some of the performers, as a fan, there's a definite community feel with the site.

I find I head over there when I find the conversations lagging on the roulette sites, may have something to do with what times I go one.

APumpkinPatch Review, Video, Audio and Text Chat

APumpkinPatch.com services include random video, text and audio chat, which are respectively call Video Mixup, Text Mash and Audio Spin, I can't say I've come across to many services offering random audio chat, the prospects seem interesting.

The design of APumpkinPatch is pretty unique when compared to other sites offering similar services and it's easy to navigate.

However it does suffer from a common problem most random chat sites have, a lack of users, but it is a tough market to compete in so that's no surprise and it doesn't take away from the fact that a lot of these sites provide just as good and in some cases better services than the big boys.

Check it out and let us now if you had any success with the audio chat, no one to connect to when I've been on.

Deliriumchat Review

Pimping it with a funky design and a pink elephant, Deliriumchat looks like it would be all kinds of fun, to bad there's barely a soul to talk to, I guess most users are taking up their offers of chatting with sexy girls.

Shame really, that elephant would have been great entertainment while skipping folks.

Chatruleti Review

Chatruleti looks to be based in Turkey and shockingly it's busy, around 4000 users the times I've been on, to bad I don't speak Turkish.

Chatruleti.com is not the most well designed site, but the chat unit is pretty stable and the amount of users kind of makes up for it. It's not often I come across a Chatroulette alternative that's as active as this one.

I have one major issue with it, I think half the women I've encountered, there's a lot on them, are actually videos, though I can't be sure.

Chatreality Review

I kind of dig Chatreality, maybe it's because instead of zero users there's usually a hand full on, the ghost towns scare me.

Chatreality.com offers most of what we're used to but without the unnecessary bells and whistles that never really work that well anyway.

Chatpowa Random Video Chat Review

I found Chatpowa to be quite a stylish site, though it does seem to promote it's other services quite heavily. Chatpowa is strictly 18+ and you'll have to enter a handle upon entering the site, which can be anything you like.

As usual there's not a lot of people to chat with, which as we all no isn't very good for a random chat site and the one person I did connect with was balls out and ready to rock, though I wasn't.

Chatmateur Review

Chatmateur is a French based chat site with a solid design, Chatmateur requires you to enter a handle upon entering the site which is no biggy. Chatmateur.fr isn't really that active, which I found strange for a French based site, as most others I've visited are usually very busy.

I really can't say the lack of users is a bad thing as a user of random chat sites, it's been my experience that when there's no one else to chat with I stick with who I got and I've ended up having some interesting conversations.

Chatduell Review

Chatduell doesn't contain much more than the chat unit itself, so no annoying ads or other distractions. They're using the ChatRoulette Clone Script that many other sites use.

It's just as solid as any other roulette style chat site and like most others there's not a lot of people using it, this I feel comes down to promotion, to compete with the big boys such as Chatroulette, Omegle and Camzap you really need to promote the hell out of it, because frankly what's on offer is just as good as any other.

SkipCam Chatroulette Script Review

Primarily SkipCam is offering itself as a Chatroulette script which can be used to add video chat to a site, though every attempt to source the script leads off to another site, which is a little confusing. It's a tight little unit that seems pretty customizable and fairly stable.

What I want to point out though is they have a demo of the script that's quite active.

CasualComm.com Review

CasualComm.com is a nicely designed and clutter free site, it kind of reminds me of professional video conferencing services, even though the people in the background image are bare foot and cross legged, just the feeling I get from the design.

CasualComm requires a very quick and painless registration, username, password and email address, once you hit join you're ready to rock, no confirmation. The only problem is there's no one to talk to, I've been on a half dozen times and I've never met anyone, oh well, I'll keep trying.

ChatRide Review

ChatRide allows you to video chat with your mates from within your browser by creating a disposable chat room, after creating your room, share the link with your friends and you're off running, though by the looks of it you can chat to just one friend. ChatRide isn't a random chat site, but the design will be very familiar to the roulette veterans out there.

Thought it may come in handy, easiest shit to use when one is drunk and on Facebook and wants to cam, though there are quite a lot of other options out there, including the just released Airtime, ChatRide just seems a little more fool proof than the others.

I Wanna See You Review

I Wanna See You takes a fairly minimalist approach to page design, it consists mostly of the chat unit which is powered by ChatRoulette Clone. I rather like uncluttered roulette sites and I rather like I Wanna See You, pity I've never encountered any strangers on it.

Manroulette, Chatroulette For Men

Manroulette is a Chatroulette for men, unlike most alternatives I've come across lately Manroulette keeps things simple with a familiar design and not much else, but if your down to chat with the boys then you'll find a constant couple hundred strangers to chat with.

Though it isn't mentioned on the site Manroulette.com is definitely for a mature audience.

FunYo Video Chat

If you're looking for the full video chat experience I think FunYo offers something very close. Funyo has the ever familiar roulette style chat that seems quite busy most of the time. They also have local and group chat options available, group chat allows you to chat with up to 4 strangers at once. Local chat provides quite a big list of cities and a few countries, the busiest of which is the Worldwide chat.

Quite a pleasant surprise considering all the ghost towns I've been coming across lately.

My Favorite Cam Site

Chaturbate is your more traditional adult cam site, thought I'd share it because I've really been enjoying going there lately. It's strictly adults only and for the most part you're free view and chat in most rooms, however there are certain aspects of the site that require tokens.

Chatting can get quite fun at times, it seems like most of the performers are having just as much fun as the viewers.

What I find interesting is that anyone can become a performer and earn a little extra, as long as you're willing to verify your age and what not.

Anyway, check it out if you want an eyeful, hehe.

Camzap Beta Public Rooms

Camzap is already a solid alternative to Chatroulette, offering several languages, a solid design and what seems like an endless stream of strangers to chat with. I hadn't been on Camzap.com for awhile and I just noticed they are offering new features through Camzap Beta which allows you to create public rooms, where by the looks of it anyone can view.

However broadcasting and the social aspects of Camzap Beta require registration, you can also get free daily credits and the option to buy more, I'm not entirely sure what these credits are used for, I couldn't manage to use any.

I had a little bit of fun as an unregistered user just browsing the live public rooms, so I decided to register, signing up definitely adds to the experience.

PS, don't forget to claim you daily credits, once I figure out what they're for I'll update this post.

Chatxroulette Mature Video Chat

Chatxroulette is geared towards mature audiences, ages 18 up and has got quite a stylish design that fits its target audience. I find the interface to be a little janky at times, but there always seems to be a lot of users on which makes up for any negatives.

A nice little feature Chatxroulette has that I don't think I've seen on any other random video chat site is the ability to easily take screenshots of your encounters which can be quite fun.
