Sex Roulette is an adult Chatroulette site that is pretty hit and miss, sometimes there seems like lots of people using it, other times there seems like no one on at all. Sex Roulette can be pretty fun though, mainly because you're allowed to be naughty on cam.

Right back to it aye, been awhile hasn't it. Pickings certainly ain't getting any slimmer, it's just that a lot of sites all use the same random chat scripts, which is O.K those scripts are pretty solid, the problem is most of the sites aren't drawing a lot of users.

It can be fun at times chatting to folks on these sites because there just isn't anyone else to chat to, you're forced to stick with who you land on, sometimes it's good not to be mindlessly nexted like on some of the bigger sites.

Anyway here we have Roundchat, like many other sites there's a common script in use, given that it has a nice clean cut layout, well thought out information and some good resources.

WocChat Random Chat

I can't believe I've overlooked WocChat, site is very smooth and there's usually around 1,000 users on at any given time. I know why I've overlooked it though and that's because I've never been able to change the camera source, though that's probably to do with something on my end.

Chat Spasm Random Video Chat

It's a pity that such nice looking sites such as Chat Spasm suffer from a lack of users, though it does usually have more users than most random video chat sites I've been to lately, about a dozen.

As I'm beginning to always say I guess it just needs some exposure.

SeshRoulette, Chatroulette for Tokers

A couple posts back I mentioned that some of the less popular Chatroulette alternatives could do well by concentrating on specific audiences, would make my job a lot more interesting and it's always nice to come across a site trying to set itself apart from the rest and SeshRoulette is one site like that, no guessing which audience they're targeting.

SeshRoulette also has a community chat and after reading a few entries it looks like SeshRoulette's random video chat service may be down at the time of writing this post, so I guess I really can't comment on how active it is, but judging from the community chat it looks like it may be very active.

It's been awhile since I've come across a Chatroulette alternative that is actually active, Camzap is very fast and seems to have loads of users, it also offers up several different languages such as Portuguese, Spanish, french and Russian.

Pleasant surprise considering all the ghost towns I've been visiting.

With a name like Chattino I was half expecting something from South America, but it looks like it may be a German based Chatroulette alternative. As usual it seems to be using a third party video chat script, but what surprised me is that there are actually people using it, about 50 users the times I've been on.

Chatt.ie sure looks nice, seems quick and has all the bells and whistles you'd expect from a random video chat site, except one thing, a user base, just needs a little exposure I guess.

On another note, it seems a lot of the sites I have yet to blog about seem to be very generic, I suspect if they were themed towards specific audiences and marketed towards them they would do a lot better.

Here's what appears to be a random video chat site based in Slovakia, Chatroulette.sk is no thrills, all you get is the chat script, which is cool and what's better is there usually seems to be more than just a couple people using it, not much more mind you.

ChatRolé looks to be a Brazilian based Chatroulette alternative, it looks to be using a third party script like a lot of other sites. It's a rather lite weight site, no ads that I can see but there's a problem, it's not active, no worries about being nexted then.

So I'm getting into the less visited Chatroulette alternatives out there now, a rather large list actually, but that doesn't mean there's no fun to be had.

As with many of the less popular alternatives, most seem to use third party scripts, Blindcamdate.com seems to be no exception, though it is a very tidy and stable site, I've never seem more than a couple people on it at any one point.

Top 5 Chatroulette Alternatives

This is a list of my top 5 Chatroulette alternatives, based mostly on how many active users they attract because I like them busy and hassle free,

No.1 - Omegle video chat takes out the number 1 spot, because it certainly has numbers, I just don't know how many, there really doesn't seem to be any shortage of users from all walks of life using it.

Though it does have a few drawbacks, namely, at most it takes 3 clicks to get to the next person and it's seemingly random captcha spam filter thing. Though it's so solid I don't give a damn.

No.2 - Chathopper claims to have 10,000 users on at any given time and I can believe it, never a shortage of peeps to next. What stops it from taking the number 1 spot is the fact that it's interface can get a little clunky at times and the page is a little to cluttered for my liking.

No.3 - ShufflePeople usually has around 5,000 users on, no shortage there then, the only reason it took my number 3 spot is because of that annoying pop-up and the refreshing ads, makes my old ass machine struggle a little.

No.4 - Flipchat is a solid performer and it would could have earned a number 3 spot if it weren't for its lower user base which is around 1,000.

No.5 - Facebuzz usually has around 600 users on and the only reason it takes the number 5 spot is there really isn't a lot of other Chatroulette alternatives that pass the 500 user mark.

So there it is, my top 5 Chatroulette alternatives, there are a couple that could have made the list, but they didn't work for at the time of writing this post. Other than that, there really isn't a lot of others that are as busy as my top 5, let's just hope that the ones I have bookmarked and ready to post throw up some gems.

Just a quick update to let you all know that I still have 51 Chatroulette alternatives to blog about, adding to the 33 I already have listed. There are some gems there, but the majority are fairly inactive and most use a common Chatroulette clone script, so it's very repetitive. Though I feel there's still fun to be had with them.

On another note, when the Well runs dry for CR alternatives I'll either start blogging about the hundreds of video chat sites I have saved or maybe I'll start another blog.

Blurry People Video Chat

It seems all these Chatroulette alternatives are either embracing the display of manhood or trying to find ways to combat it, enter Blurry People, which blurs your random encounters for a couple minutes so those that are easily offended, don't get offended.

Blurry People seems to have a bunch of people using it, it's pretty smooth going and they also have a rating system, cool feature, but this is what I find annoying about it, coupled with the amount of blur time and the number of clicks between strangers (5 or 6 clicks depending) it's very slow going. Though I guess this will deter a lot of one handed strangers, it'll just disrupt their flow.

Camskip Webcam Chat

With most Chatroulette alternatives there's a lack of people using them, it's a pity really as most seem more stable than the original, case in point, Camskip which has a beautiful layout and all the features you would expect.

Zapandtalk is one of the nicer looking Chatroulette alternatives out there, though it must suffer from lack of promotion or maybe it just doesn't work because I've never actually seen anyone on it.

Seems to be a common problem amongst the CR clones, the lack of users, I guess there really is only so much people to go around, it's just a little frustrating at times to come across sites that are more stable than the original, though have little to no users.

Jaleco Multiple Language Video Chat

If you're after a Multiple Language Video Chat, namely French, Dutch or Italian then Jaleco is for you.

Jaleco uses a script that a lot of other Chatroulette sites use, it's a stable script and all, but my main problem with it is most of the sites that use it don't draw a lot of users. Jaleco is a little bit of an exception, there seems to be at least 20 users per language on at any given time and don't let the language barrier put you off, the simple interface means no matter what language you speak, you'll find it easy to participate.

On another note, I've accumulated a rather large list of sites that use this Chatroulette script and will probably make a post listing them in the coming weeks, so keep coming back to catch it.

I was made aware of Roulettechat.fr through a comment left on this post 23 More Chatroulette Alternatives To Go and let me say it's one smooth site.

Roulettechat.fr has quite a few chat options, there's the classic random text chat, the Chatroulette style video chat and the multiple cam chat rooms that I miss so very much.

It seems to be an active site, nexting was fast and I never ran out of fresh faces, there's only one downside that I can see, I can't understand French.

I have around 23 more Chatroulette alternatives in my bookmarks, but they're using pretty much the same script and I'm not sure if they are using the same pool of people, would be pretty pointless posting them if they're all the same network. I'll check them over time.

What I think I'll do later on is post some of the great video chat services I have on my list, these aren't random chats like CR, just chat rooms with webcams.

Tinychat Next is another big boy who decided to copy Chatroulette. I could never get this one to work for the longest time, but now I can.

I get the feeling if Chatroulette was never around, Tinychat probably would have been a lot more successful as they were gaining in popularity, CR became viral and overshadowed the buggers hehe.

How To Record Chatroulette Free And Easy

So you want to record video of your Chatroulette adventures, well you've come to the right place, it's not as hard as you may think.

Below is a simple guide on how to record Chatroulette, best of all it's free and easy.

How To Record Chatroulette

First you'll want to download a free piece of software called CamStudio, after that install it, open it and you're ready to record.

First make sure to check that region is checked in the region menu, hit record and drag a box around the area you want to record, in this case probably the Chatroulette video window.

When you're ready to stop recording, click the stop button, name and save it and your newly recorded video will begin to play and that's it, you're done.

Things to note
As with most screen recording software the resulting video files can be huge so it may pay to look at some settings tutorials on youtube, there are plenty of configurations to set, in the end it's all about personal choice.

Ranchat, I don't know what language it's in but it seems to work. Not a lot of explanation of how to use it, if you've used Chatroulette then you should be able to navigate it.

Seems to be fast, though people next faster than a jackrabbit in heat, also seems to be a good amount of people on there to.

How To Take Chatroulette Screenshots

There's plenty of ways to take screenshots, so I won't cover this to much, this is just for those who aren't sure how to.

I use a program named IrFanView to take my Chatroulette screenshots. If you want to go this route here's a short irfanview tutorial.

Open IrFanView, go to options, go down to Capture/Screenshot and click to enter Capture Setup, set Capture area, set Destination directory, take note of Hot Keys and click Start.

Just use the Hot Keys anytime you want a screenshot.

Patch Roulette and Super Chatroulette let you do just what the title says, watch multiple Chatroulette cams at the same time.

I was partial to Patch Roulette upon starting this post, but I just saw that Super Chatroulette has had a redesign since I last visited, looking good to.

Update: Just found a third service that offers viewing multiple Chatroulette cams, Crazy Chatroulette. Page is a little overloaded with junk though.

CamToya is a French site like CR, there's only one reason I'm adding it to the list, it has a feature that sets it apart from most Chatroulette alternatives.

CamToya is very very slow for me, as a result I've spent little time on it, the one feature I find interesting is you can have a random 4 way video chat with people.

Pretty nifty if it weren't so slow.

FaceBuzz - CR Alternative

ChatHopper reminds me a lot of Shufflepeople for some reason, probably the colours.

There seems to always be a good amount of people on there, though for me Chathopper seems to hang a lot, which was the main reason I went looking for alternatives to CR.

For that reason I haven't really used Chathopper all that much, so I'll leave things there.

Chatroulette Alternative Omegle Video

Omegle has been around for a long time in terms of random text chats and I guess it wasn't any surprise to see them add video to their service.

Omegle is one of my favorite sites like Chatroulette, always a nice mix of people on, very few hangs and fast streams.

Though there is a lot of annoying things about it as well. The major one is for me to connect to the next person, I have to click disconnect, confirm the disconnect and then click next to get to the next person.

Another annoyance is the captcha they have in place, there seems to be no rhyme or reason to when it pops up and it disrupts the flow.

But it still remains one of my favorites, why? because of the people, nice crowd.

Chatroulette Alternative LolliChat

LolliChat looks like a pretty good Chatroulette alternative, fast, stable, very few hang-ups and a decent amount of people on there, get quite a few repeats though.

One thing that sets it apart from others is there are quite a few options to customize your experience, most notable is the language translator.

LolliChat is quite a nice CR alternative.

Chatroulette Alternative AnoChat

AnoChat doesn't seem all that active, but there are people on it. AnoChat seems pretty stable and fast, but there is one thing that annoys me, the cam windows don't appear in their default ratios, they're scalable horizontally which gives a squashed or stretched look to the cam windows.

Another feature to note is they have the option for adults only called AnoChat Ero, though there seems to be even less people there.

Arandomcam doesn't look much like Chatroulette and isn't very active, about 20 users every time I've been on. However it is very stable and super fast, probably due to the amount of people on it.

Chatroulette Alternative Zupyo

Zupyo has a nice little feature I want to talk about, the problem is each time I've gone to use it there seems to be nobody on.

Zupyo is straight out of Chatroulette's vein, but there are two glaring differences, first there's no report button and secondly, it has a keyword feature.

The keyword feature is there to hook you up with others who entered the same keyword, quite a nice feature to break up the randomness.

Would be nice if there were people actually using the service.

Chatroulette Alternative Shufflepeople

One of the first sites like Chatroulette that I came across was Shufflepeople, and I was amazed at just how stable and fast it was compared to CR.

The Good
Shufflepeople has around 4000 people using it at any given time, it has both horizontal and vertical views, pretty fast, not a lot of hangs when nexting to the next person.

The Bad
As with most of the Chatroulette alternatives, there's no shortage of dicks. From time to time you also get a few repeats, people you nexted popping up again, which can be a little annoying.

Over all, Shufflepeople is a great Chatroulette alternative, I just don't understand why it's not more popular than it is.

I thought I'd start my list of sites like Chatroulette with the original. It's what I started on and I loved it, but in time I got frustrated, it got slower, the constant hang-ups, the constant changes. I spent most my time fighting it instead of chatting with people.

Nuff said really, that's why I went looking elsewhere.
